Honeysuckle ‘Our Living Harbour Garden Competition’
The Promoter is The Honeysuckle Development
Corporation. ABN 94 688 782 063 of Suite B, Level 5, PricewaterhouseCoopers
Centre, 26 Honeysuckle Drive,
Newcastle NSW 2300.
1. Entry is open to all residents within
Honeysuckle who fulfill the entry requirements. Directors, management and staff
of Honeysuckle Development Corporation may not enter.
2. Entry nominations close on Friday 5th October.
3 The judging commences on Saturday, 6th October and ends on Saturday 27th October 2007.
4. To enter the competition, participants need to:
(a) Go to the website www.honeysuckle.net and complete the entry form available on that website and provide contact
details as requested. Or
(b) Complete the entry form titled ‘Our Living
Harbour Garden Competition 2007’ and return the entry form to Suite B, Level 5,
PricewaterhouseCoopers Centre, 26 Honeysuckle Drive, Newcastle NSW 2300
5. A participant is permitted to complete and
submit their preferred category entry form once. Honeysuckle Development
Corporation will only accept one entry in respect of each category. Subsequent
entries will be disregarded.
6. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for
incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, misdirected or illegible
submissions. The Promoter has the
right to remove any entries that appear to be duplicates or multiple entries
from the same participant for the same category. The ‘Our Harbour Garden
Competition 2007’ is strictly one entry, per person per category.
7. The winner per category will be selected via a
judging panel, and in some instances jointly with the community and via a
popular vote. The judging panel will determine the winner via the entrants
meeting the criteria as outlined in the ‘Our Harbour Garden Competition 2007 -
Category overview’ (see below). The judging process will be conducted late October, with Winners being
acknowledged at a presentation on Saturday 3rd November.
8. Each category winner’s prize consists of one
limited-time voucher to the value of $100 redeemable at selected Honeysuckle businesses. The voucher is not
redeemable for cash. The voucher is subject to expiry as displayed on the
voucher and cannot be redeemed for any item after this time.
9. If the prize is unavailable, for whatever
reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of
equal or greater value subject to Lottery and Gaming Regulations 1993. The
prize is not redeemable for cash.
10. The category winners will be notified via phone
and email, with the prize voucher being presented to the winners on Saturday 3rd November
11. The information entrants provide will be used by
the Promoter for the purpose of conducting this trade promotion. The Promoter
may disclose your personal information to contractors it engages to assist it
in conducting the competition or communicating with the entrant. By entering, you agree that the
Promoter may use the aggregate information collected from the entry form for
related research and marketing purposes. The Promoter is bound by the National
Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. Entrants can access the personal
information the Promoter holds about them by contacting the Promoter on 02 4904
2750. The Promoter's full Privacy Policy is available on request or on the
"www.honeysuckle.net” website.
12. The Promoter's decisions will be final and no
correspondence will be entered into.
‘Our Living Harbour Garden Competition 2007- Category
overview’
There are 10 categories:
1. Best Use of Water Sensitive Design – the winner of this category will be able to demonstrate an
understanding of water sensitive planning philosophy for the garden.
2. Best Use of Structured Garden Design – the winner of this category will demonstrate a clear understanding of
the form and structure of the garden using plants and other means to achieve a
structured sense of place.
3. Best Use of Informal Garden Elements – the winner of this category will demonstrate an understanding of the
use of garden elements in a combination to achieve a sense of informal and
relaxed style.
4. Best Use of Colour Theming – the winner of this category will demonstrate an understanding of the
use of colour as a dominant element in showcasing a garden’s potential.
5. Best Use of Style Theming - the winner of this category will demonstrate an ability to identify a style
and present that style with flair and panache.
6. Best Collaborative Community Garden – the winners of this category will demonstrate that a collaborative
effort will result in a great outcome for the community.
7. Best Courtyard or Enclosed Rear Garden – the winner of this category will demonstrate an ability to create an
oasis in the urban life of Honeysuckle – a refuge from the ‘outside’.
8. Best Balcony Garden – the
winner of this category will demonstrate an ability to design a balcony garden
that can be appreciated as much from the street as from the room within the
residence.
9. Best Public/Most Popular Recreation Area - The winner of this category will demonstrate a clear appreciation for the
dynamics of public use and enjoyment of space - any public space in the
Honeysuckle. Judged by the judges and the community jointly.
10. Best Workplace Area - The
winner of this category will depend on a popular vote.
